New Delhi: 28th November 2025: (PIB Delhi//The SPIS News)::

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, graced the launch ceremony of the Brahma Kumaris' annual theme for 2025-26, ‘Meditation for World Unity and Trust’, at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (November 28, 2025).

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that in modern times, on the strength of science and technology, humanity has made unprecedented progress. Today is the era of information technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and space exploration. These revolutionary changes have made human life more convenient, accessible, and resource-rich. Today's humans are more educated and technologically capable than ever before and have many opportunities for advancement. However, alongside technological advancement in society, there is also stress, mental insecurity, distrust, and loneliness. In this scenario, it is essential that we not only move forward but also embark on a journey of introspection. When we pause for a moment and communicate with ourselves, we realise that peace and joy lies not in any external object, but within ourselves. When spiritual consciousness awakens, love, brotherhood, compassion, and unity automatically become a part of life. A calm and stable mind sows the seeds of peace in society, and from there, the foundation of world peace and unity is laid. A strong spirit is the cornerstone for realizing the concept of global unity.

The President praised the inspiring efforts of Brahma Kumaris in the areas of world peace, human values, women's empowerment, spiritual awakening, education, and meditation. She expressed confidence that all sisters and brothers of this organisation will continue to play an important role in building a better, peaceful, and trusting world.

Both leaders welcomed the positive momentum and steady progress in bilateral relations since their last meeting in Kazan in October 2024. They reaffirmed that the two countries were development partners and not rivals, and that their differences should not turn into disputes. A stable relationship and cooperation between India and China and their 2.8 billion peoples on the basis of mutual respect, mutual interest and mutual sensitivity are necessary for the growth and development of the two countries, as well as for a multipolar world and a multi-polar Asia befitting the trends of the 21st century.

The two leaders noted with satisfaction the successful disengagement last year and the maintenance of peace and tranquility along the border areas since then. They expressed commitment to a fair, reasonable, and mutually acceptable resolution of the boundary question proceeding from the political perspective of their overall bilateral relations and the long-term interests of the two peoples. They recognized the important decisions taken by the two Special Representatives in their Talks earlier this month, and agreed to further support their efforts.

On economic and trade relations, they recognized the role of their two economies to stabilize world trade. They underlined the need to proceed from a political and strategic direction to expand bilateral trade and investment ties and reduce trade deficit.

Prime Minister noted that India and China both pursue strategic autonomy, and their relations should not be seen through a third country lens. The two leaders deemed it necessary to expand common ground on bilateral, regional, and global issues and challenges, like terrorism and fair trade in multilateral platforms.

Prime Minister expressed support for China's Presidency of the SCO and the Summit in Tianjin. He also invited President Xi to the BRICS Summit that India will be hosting in 2026. President Xi thanked Prime Minister for the invitation and offered China's support to India's BRICS Presidency.
